It all began with an idea. Maybe we don’t have to do the same tournament that is done every time. What about a TEAM tournament? With that, the M.E.T.T. was born.
The Mighty Eagle Team Tournament is a 3 vs 3 competition. Bring the best sumo wrestlers from your club, state, or friends to compete and find out who’s best. No one to come with you. Come anyway to compete in the Open or get picked up by a team needing a member.

About Competing in the METT

Start Time: Noon-5
Location: Rolling Oaks Mall, 6909 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, TX 78247
Registration: $75 /Team or $30 /Individual
The team competition will begin on the day.
Open-weight and team competitions are for both men and women and will be awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals.
The competition will proceed with individual Open-weight division competition(s). No light, middle, light-heavy, or heavy division competitions.
Team Tournament Rules
Consists of three members – may compete with two (injury or start with two)
No more than two (2) members from the same weight division
Once the line-up is set, you cannot alter positioning (Senpo, Chuken, Taisho)
The best two out of three matches win the round.
In case of a tie, the overall Win/Loss record will determine the placement
If still tied, then a playoff
If a player gets injured or otherwise cannot compete, that position’s match is forfeited
for the remainder of the tournament (no substitute or pick-up of players).
Maintain the integrity of each Sumo Club for the assembly of teams.
Single individuals or 4th/etc... member(s) of a club may partner with other singles (or club with only two athletes) to form an additional team(s).
